Client
Kuehne & Nagel

Location
Seoul, South Korea

Area
1,485m²

After residing in their previous space for 15 years, Kuehne & Nagel needed a contemporary workplace that would cater for its continued growth, offer effective integration of function and form, and be able to adapt to staff needs as they evolved.

It was also to be a place that would truly promote health, wellbeing and tranquility, making it a desirable destination for work. Holistically, the design needed to incorporate a sense of local flair and foster a real sense of connecting people through the layout and use of materials.

" Thank you for your exceptional work crafting our new office space in Seoul. Your team listened to our needs, presented a simple yet innovative concept that perfectly aligned with our vision, and guided us superbly throughout the entire process.

Our employees now have a space they are thrilled to call their home away from home. The new office is functional, efficient and aesthetically pleasing; we couldn't be happier with the result. "

Creating visual interest

The circle was adopted as a central design motif, one that represented continuous and organic movement. Drawn primarily from the company logo, this shape was also derived from the nature of their business in air and sea logistics.

Providing for rest and connection

Showers, restrooms, ample shoe closets and plenty of personal spaces offer opportunities to reset and recharge. A diverse range of areas through the space foster productive meetings, lively discussion and meaningful socialising with colleagues.

Acting sustainably

We identified a range of sustainable materials, lighting types and live plant selections, all of which contributed to the softer palette and ensured material choice had minimal environmental impact.

Delivering a successful space

This is a modern, thriving workplace that combines movement, calm, connectivity and focus, through informed thinking and functional design. It offers great flexibility and a strong sense of community, to support its users in productive and social contexts.

Advancing design

Each of our projects places trust and relationship building at the core, and the Kuehne & Nagel team was totally engaged throughout the design journey. We encouraged them to think differently and question what they wanted. They were guided by us right through the process, creating a distinctly better outcome that demonstrates the critical importance of mutual respect and understanding in any project.
