Geyer, in collaboration with Valmont, has successfully transformed a contemporary Melbourne workplace for Costa, a leading player in the agribusiness sector. This space is a reflection of Costa's people-first culture, seamlessly integrating modern, flexible environments that inspire creativity and enhance productivity.
Maximising Architectural Potential
The workplace design capitalises on the unique architectural features of the Docklands building, as well as its waterside location. The exterior of 818 Bourke Street features full-height windows, a central atrium, and a skylight that floods the interior with natural light, connecting visitors with nature.
Geyer curated a floorplan for Costa’s team, heavily influenced by these architectural elements. The design ensures that the harbour views and abundant natural light are accessible to all employees and visitors.
Fostering Productivity
The design prioritises the diverse needs of Costa’s team, thoughtfully addressing neurodiversity and varying thinking styles essential for cultivating a high-performing business. A key aspect is the provision of varied workspaces, ranging from creative brainstorming zones to quiet areas for deep concentration, along with ample space for spontaneous interactions and casual conversations.
Flexible Design for Future Needs
The adaptability of these spaces ensures that the workplace is prepared for evolving trends and aligned with Costa’s growth ambitions. This flexibility allows for seamless transitions as the business continues to develop and expand.
Creating an Atmosphere of Mindfulness
Beyond maximising natural light and picturesque water views, the design embraces a natural aesthetic that cultivates a fresh, modern environment for the Costa team to thrive within. Soft pastel hues in wall and flooring features help delineate different areas, while also infusing a refreshing take on the Costa brand.
